Not that long ago I started to seriously study Internet marketing and learn the basics. Internet marketing newbies usually get sidetracked with the abundance of information that's out there. After going through many hours of jumping from one marketing principal to some new tactic to a new product that will automate everything... blah blah blah, I stopped, gathered my thoughts and started to focus.

The following are just a few Seo Tips that I have learned that will help those of you who are internet marketing newbies.

1. When setting up website to showcase your product or a product you're promoting, it is imperative to have your best keyword in your domain name. Assuming you are just starting out in your business and you are in the restaurant business and you specialize in Italian food, This is an example for your domain name. Angiesitaliancuisine dot com. Having the word italian as part of the domain name give you an advantage over other restaurants that don't include italian in the name. What ever your specialty, include your most focused keyword in the domain. When someone searches for Italian restaurants your domain will more likely have a better ranking than if your domain was Angiescuisine.

2. In the title page or header on your website or blog is another key location for your most focused keyword. Example: Angies Famous Homemade Italian Cuisine.This would be a nice title page that includes your keyword Italian, along with other good keywords.

3. In our example you would want to include these words in your keyword list on your site: Italian food,italian cuisine,homemade italian food,italian restaurant,homemade italian restaurant and other combinations also. Whatever search terms the average person would type in to find your business should be in the list.

4. If you are using a blog format, you should use your most popular keywords in your content. If you are writing about Italian food,as in our example above, use of your keywords should come in naturally. Don't over do the use of your keywords when writing articles or posts. Just write naturally using your best words and phrases.

5. Links used in your website are also key to helping search engines notice your site. If you are sharing a recipe as a blog post as in our example above, use your keywords as link text. Link text are the words that are usually blue that link to another place. Let's say your recipe is for Chicken Parmigianna and in your post about the the chicken parm recipe you say "Chicken Parmigianna is one of everyones favorites when it comes to Italian Cuisine...... " In this example you would create a text link for the phrase "Italian Cuisine". When you do this you can have the link(Italian Cuisine) go to a specific page on your site to interlink to your own site. Another option is you could send your readers to another website that may sell a cook book on "Italian Cuisine" or even better send then to another page on your site that sells your cook book on "Italian Cuisine".
