Too Busy To Cook Fast And Easy Meals? - Food - Cooking Tips

Working a 9 to 5 day is tough enough without having to come home and be expected to cook a delicious meal that's not only satisfying but healthy. It isn't so much about the different cultures and their recipes as it is about the time constraints that modern day life impose upon our ability to do things for ourselves (like cooking).

A lot of people are happier to pay extra and receive a lovely meal, hoping that it's also healthy but not being too worried about it. Quite a few of these people are sure to share the same food tastes, whether it's Thai, Chinese, Indian, Japanese, German, French, American or any other places from around the world, there are often a few ingredients that are used commonly to create 'strong' flavours.

It's also true that whilst many people share tastes when it comes to what constitutes 'good' food, it is just as true that not everybody enjoys the same types of foods. For example onions and garlic, which are dominant in some Thai meals (for their flavour and health benefits no doubt) are not enjoyed by everyone. That's perfectly OK so long as the person whose recipe you're reading from knows how to properly substitute the two without compromising the intended quality or flavour of your meal.

Another problem with garlic or onions is the smell that clings to your clothes (in onions case) and skin (in the case of garlic) for days after consumption. This might sound like a made-up fact, but it is in fact true - garlic and onions have very strong smells; These smells can be absorbed by people very quickly if they consume those foods.

Thai meals are great for being quick and easy to create - a Thai green curry with noodles and steamed vegetables can take just a few minutes if you know what you're doing - or someone shows you how to.For the beginners they can still achieve this in relatively little time, as long as you have the right guidance and someone shows you a few tricks on how to prepare authentic ethnic food in under 10 minutes.

If you avoid Thai meals because of the onion and garlic, or because of the perceived difficulty involved, you shouldn't.There are many recipes out there which call for flavours that are not about strong smells, but potent and delightful aromas. It's certainly worth seeking out if you want fast, easy, healthy meals that taste amazing.
